Surface Changes
December 3rd- January 7th
Lex Leonard Gallery proudly presents the opening of
“Surface Changes”, an exhibition curated by Tenneal R. McNair. The show features photography by Erik Mech and Bryan Warakomski, as well as fashion and graphics by Corey Fleming for Eyesor.
This exhibition is a visual discussion about society’s ever-changing exterior. Addressing the conflict between ‘city development’ and communal needs, viewers are given a chance to explore the correlation between the so-called alternative lifestyle of skateboarders and their connection to the broader community. “Surface Changes” is an exhibit that addresses life beyond the sport, including a continuous search for a skate domain, when one is not provided, and the nomadic spirit of the athlete.

Invisible Fields: positively guided by the unseen
Exhibition Dates: August, 31st- October 12, 2007
Lex Leonard Gallery proudly announces the opening of ‘Invisible Fields (positively guided by the unseen)’, an exhibition curated by Nyugen E. Smith. The show features sculpture, installation art, painting and written word by artists Ariel DeAndrea, Ibou Ndoye, Bret Reilly, and Noelle Lorraine Williams (REBORN).
All exhibited works examine the existence of unseen forces responsible for movement in nature, from a flock of birds in flight to the stroke of an artist’s brush. These forces are responsible for some of the most awe-inspiring occurrences of beauty and grace yet their origin and patterns cannot be explained. ‘Invisible Fields’ is a tribute to these phenomena.

REDUCE: a design based exhibition for the conscious consumer
june 14- july 14
curated by nyugen e. smith
REDUCE examines our dependence on disposable products and the implications that this carries for us all. The exhibit also offers a small, yet concrete solution with the hope that even a slight resolve to do better - to simply reduce when waste seems unnecessary - will have a ripple effect on all of our daily habits. Consumer action and a demand for more responsible choices will dictate how far this wave travels.
